Happy New Year to all as we swing into the second half of our Rotary Year.
Thursday 20 January 2022. - as has become a recent custom our first meeting is a social occasion, partners welcome, at Bowling Club on Thornton Road. - Start 5 pm. There will be a cash bar. Some bowling club / Rotary members will be available to give some guidance on teaching members about bowling bias. Meal - BBQ steak, green salads, new potatoes.
Thorntons Club requires patrons to be double vaxed so please bring your passports.
Thursday 27 January 2022 - First meeting back at staff room Cambridge Hire School. President Ian will be out lining his plans for next six months. Cambridge High School requires all members and guests to be double vaxed - therefore please bring your passports.. We will have a Rotarian on the door with the app checking all attendees. This will be a dinner meeting
Thursday 17 February 2022 - Celebrating 75 years of Cambridge Rotary - Te Awa Lifestyle Village - Woolshed Restaurant. - Start 5.00 pm - Te Awa is a retirement village - they also mandate visitors to be double vaxed.
Our club has mandated to be double vaxed -as all our venues have this requirement. This requirement is for members and guests who wish to attend in person..
Business House Bowls
The Cambridge Bowling Club is holding its annual Business House Bowls tournament again this year.
It commences on Tuesday 25 Jan and runs each Tuesday until 1 March.
Teams comprise 3 players, of which 1 can be a regular bowler. Whilst it is not necessary that the same 3 play each each week, we will need some players who are reasonably consistent attendees to make sure that we can front each week.
The Rotary Club entered a team last year, and we had a most enjoyable time of it as the competition, whilst each team is playing to win, was played in good spirit.
We can enter more than one team, so could I please have expressions of interest from all of you who would like to join in, with an indication (not a commitment) of your expected availability (eg "will be available most Tuesdays"; "not available every 2nd Tuesday" etc).
