THIS WEEK'S NOTICES

Last Week – Sam Voss

We had the delightful  Sam Voss presenting to us last night. The share determination she has in approaching her high performance rowing career is inspiring. The quick facts for you:

  • Sam is the Under 23 World Champion in a single scull
  • She achieved this accolade after returning from dislocating her ankle and breaking it in 3 places in 2017
  • Born in Hamilton, educated at St Peter’s and now living in Cambridge
  • Sam credits her parents with sporting ability
  • She’s been rowing for 7 years having started at the end of Year 11
  • Sam is studying for her degree in Sports Science
  • Sam trains 6 days a week, twice a day
Good luck for your upcoming regatta in the 15th Sam.

Party, party, party – our last meeting for the year is being hosted by the fabulous Bob Teale and his wife, Robyn-Anne. We’ll be at Bob’s property and it’s BYO drinks and a chair. Please bring a gift to the value of $10 and if you’re a man, bring a man gift, if you’re woman, bring a woman gift.

YOUR WEEKLY ROSTER

Please take note of the Duty Roster and be in good time for your duties.

NOTE The Duty "Magic Moment" is: A short comment referencing something in our community, or within Rotary which you find inspiring, encouraging or adding to the joy and pleasure of life. It should be an uplifting story that takes no more than two minutes to deliver. Ideally it will be something from the last week or so, something others may not yet have heard about.
