This week I congratulated our club and past president Ian in being awarded a 2021/22 Rotary International Presidents Citation. This is the confirmation from Ross Pinkerton our immediate past District Governor:

"Congratulations to the 10 Clubs in District 9930 that have been awarded the 2021/22 Rotary International President’s Citation.

During a year that was challenging for many Rotarians around the world, these clubs demonstrated a commitment to achieve their goals, which ultimately helps strengthen Rotary and shape our future.

Each of the Clubs listed below:
  • Entered their goals into the My Rotary - Club Central
  • Maintained the updates required throughout the year
  • Completed at least 13 of the 25 available Goals
  • Managed their projects and activities; added in their voluntary hours and financial contributions
  1. Cambridge
  2. Hamilton Central
  3. Havelock North
  4. Huntly
  5. Maketu
  6. Matamata
  7. Papamoa
  8. Rotorua North
  9. Stortford Lodge (Hastings)
  10. Te Kuiti
Certificates are available and will be presented to you and your Clubs at the first opportunity.

You are all encouraged to support your current Presidents in entering and completing your Club’s goals in the 2022/23 Rotary year.

Congratulations, once again.
Regards Ross

In this bulletin I can also confirm Malinda Chandrasekera has completed the documentation and induction review to become a member of Cambridge Rotary. He will be welcomed to our club in the very near future.  I can also confirm Colin Pauling’s transfer is almost complete.

Rotary World Action Day to be celebrated on 24 September – we will join with Hamilton clubs and take our turn at manning a stall at the Mystery Creek.  The Motorhome and Caravan show at Mystery Creek is on that weekend.

Lastly, thank you to the club for unanimously supporting the Regionalisation review to be conducted by Rotary International.

I will be in Taupo 15 September and Past President Ian Grant has kindly agreed to chair the meeting.
