The year’s Bookarama was another great success raising about the same amount as last year which was the highest for a number of years.

The Club’s thanks go to the large number of volunteers who helped sort the books all last year and most of this due to delays caused by Covid lockdowns.

As a result of their hard work the quality of books was better than ever and the quantity was more than ever (almost two truckloads!!)

This year we were helped by more non-Rotarians than ever. Thanks to the Cambridge High Cricketers and their dads, two volunteers from Urban Miners who spent two or three full days each helping and one or two other regular helpers.

If your spouse was involved please be sure to thank her/him too, and of course any of your family (Bosackers_etc).

All of our leftover books, CDs, DVDs etc went to a group that had been collecting and taking all of our rubbish books for the past three years or so, as a thankyou rather than either recycling them or taking them to landfill.

We also have a couple of hopeful leads on a future site for our activities next year – watch this space.

The provisional result looks like about $21,000 income before expense of $7-8,000.
