Cambridge Rotary members were in high spirits at the District Conference held in Hastings recently and were delighted to have won the Best Club Fancy Dress award with the theme “Mid Life Crisis – Call the Midwife”.  This certainly was rewarding as a busy year of fundraising, service and fellowship draws to a close.

There have been many successes with the club achieving great outcomes with its service projects and fundraising events. Funds raised from Bookarama and the Charity Dinner exceeded previous occasions and members have delivered more service projects adding the area of community medicine by offering blood pressure checks and volunteering at the Blood Service collections. The Adventure Club is proving very successful; the e-waste recycling project “Urban Miners” recognised at the Waipa Business Awards is proving a popular and welcome community service.
