Social Bowls – 23 January
An enjoyable evening at the Thornton Club was held on Thursday with a very good attendance of Rotarians, partners and visitors.  Thanks to Don Harris for co-ordinating the night. Photo images next week.

First Rotary Club Night – 30 January 2020
The speaker on the first formal meeting on 30 January will be Steph McLennan on Falls Prevention, Strong & Stable Community Strength & Balance. Plus something a little bit extra and the usual buffet meal prepared by Gourmet Delicious
 
Cambridge Rotary Adventure Club
David Blewden has advised the first two adventures as follows:
 
Mount Maungatautari Summit Walk – Sunday 1 February
Time                      12 noon
Meeting Place   Tari Road Carpark
Route                    Summit Track and Return
Duration              Approx 3.5 hrs, 8.5km walking
Cancellation      No later than 9am on day by txt
Equipment          Sturdy walking shoes, wet weather gear, snacks, water, hat, sun screen medication
Min Numbers    8. Please advise your attendance by Friday 31 January by RSVP email to
                                andrewnewman84@gmail.com . Please include your name and cell phone

Information       -     Trip leader will be carrying first aid and locator beacon.
  • Individuals should satisfy themselves as to suitability of excursion to their fitness level and health
  • At conclusion of walk it is intended to retire to suitable premises for refreshments
 
Timber Trail Bike Ride – Sunday 1 March
Time                      8am
Meeting Place   Dick Street for carpooling and bike transport
Route                    Piropiro to Ongarue by bike. Return to Piropiro by van
Duration              3.5 hrs
Cancellation      Week before
Equipment          Bike (trail or mountain), lunch, water, helmet, padded bike shorts, puncture repair kit, spare inner tube

NOTE The Duty "Magic Moment" is: A short comment referencing something in our community, or within Rotary which you find inspiring, encouraging or adding to the joy and pleasure of life. It should be an uplifting story that takes no more than two minutes to deliver. Ideally it will be something from the last week or so, something others may not yet have heard about.
If you are unable to attend on the date you are rostered, please swap or arrange a substitute.
